The Pravasi Legal Cell UK Chapter was inaugurated on 30 Nov 2023 at Indian YMCA, London. Justice Kurian Joseph, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, inaugurated the event, emphasizing the importance of legal empowerment for expatriates. The ceremony was graced by Adv. Soniya Sunny, President PLC UK Chapter, and esteemed guests Mayor Em. Cllr. Tom Aditya, Cllr. Dr. Manju Shahul Hameed, and Mr. Sanjay Kumar from the High Commission of India, London.
Adv. Jose Abraham, Advocate on record, Supreme Court of India, and Global President of PLC, conveyed his heartfelt wishes and joined the event online from Delhi.
PLC Kerala Chapter President Mohandas , General Secratary R Muraleedharan , PLC Kerala Chapter former President and District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Ernakulam (Kerala) bench President D.B. Binu conveyed their wishes to PLC UK Chapter.
Justice Kurian Joseph highlighted the need for legal empowerment of expatriates and also extended his wishes for PLC UK Chapter to help and empower Indian expatriates and give awareness on both Indian and UK laws. A Safe Emigration awareness session was also held as part of the inaugural ceremony, highlighting the importance of informed and secure migration.
The event also saw the virtual participation of PLC Global PRO Sudheer Thirunilath, PLC International Coordinator Hashim Perumbavur, Women’s Wing International Coordinator Hajirabi Valiyakath and Nursing Wing Global Coordinator Siju Thomas ,
The PLC UK Chapter aims to provide a platform for legal support, guidance, and awareness to the Indian expatriate community, fostering a sense of legal empowerment and ensuring a smooth transition into the legal frameworks of the United Kingdom.
