Hon’ble S.C. issues notice to Centre in the PIL filed by PLC to refund all who booked tickets prior to and during the lockdown period

Hon’ble S.C. saw merit in the petition filed by PLC for refund of air tickets. The Bench comprising of Hon’ble Mr. Justice N.V. Ramana, Hon;ble Mr. Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Justice B.R. Gavai issued notice on 27/04/2020.

It is interesting to note that during the hearing in the matter, Hon’ble Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul tersely asked the Ld. Solicitor General the basis for discriminating between those who booked tickets prior to lockdown and during the lockdown, for travelling in flights which got cancelled during the lockdown period.
